Working with OS kernel, linker, loader, binutils, device driver development; microcontrollers, DSP, FPGA, CPLD, digital design, IC design, electronics design; protocols, USB, SD, Nand Flash, Ethernet, LCD displays, interfacing, buses and other fun stuff like that. Taught a decade or so at a university, wrote a couple of textbooks. A bizarre affection to solar panels and generators.
I genuinely feel that there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. At the university I always treated well first year students and now I treat well the customers that want to design something and don't have a clue how to do it. It's the burden of the teacher to teach the student. It's the burden of the experienced to help the newcomer.
The world has changed. Its pace has gotten faster and youngsters are now expected to provide results before they've had the chance to learn their craft. And it's their world now. What's left for us dinosaurs is either to help them or ignore them on our way to oblivion. I hope that I can do my part to help.
