That blog post is about the intended, documented behavior of MsgWaitForMultipleObjects , and some buggy user code that calls it incorrectly. While it's plausible that some installer could have had a bug along those lines, it would malfunction in the same way on every version of Windows, because the API is supposed to behave that way.
