Dec 5, 2023 at 9:27 comment added dotz @hippietrail by this time we should have a graphics library for TS 2048/2068 coded in ZX Basic perhaps, do you know any?
Dec 4, 2023 at 4:17 comment added hippietrail @dotz Ah yes, the only part that looks like it is 512x192 is at about 34 seconds in with the big "Timmy" graphic and the "wavy" text below. As the graphics is drawn you can see the vertical bars since the second half of screen memory in that mode is every second column. Also if you zoom in you can see the pixels are vertical 1x2 bricks. Everywhere else in the demo the pixels are square. I've actually forgotten what to look for in the 8x1 color mode since this effect can be done on regular Speccys but surely with certain limitations. I'm not sure I should accept this whole answer though.
Dec 3, 2023 at 13:19 comment added dotz @hippietrail I think you can see 8x1 color mode in Timmy and 512x192 hi-res graphics. Have a second look perhaps.
Sep 1, 2022 at 2:55 comment added hippietrail At fist I thought "Crazy Bugs" looked like it was running in a Timex hi-res screen mode, but even it turns out to just be a plain Speccy game I wasn't familiar with.
Aug 31, 2022 at 15:17 comment added hippietrail I watched the "Timmy" demo and couldn't see anything in it that looked like it was using 2048/2068 features. Did I miss something. I'll start watching all the other videos. I've seen some already.
