You can break the pin (e.g. by carefully bending it back and forth using needle-nose pliers) or remove it from the board by desoldering it - making it hot enough melts the plastic of the shell, so it can be pulled) without any functional loss. For practical purposes, removing that pin from the controller makes it more versatile without any downside. The only reason to not remove that pin is to keep the controller in original state as collectors item. | |
